eigenaren.
Dear
Jacques & Rian,
I
have some very bad news - Wo died last Tuesday following a horrible
accident.
She
has been with Kirstie Parrish (a dressage rider) for almost 12 months
now.
She was getting stronger and her training was coming along very well.
In the last few months she had started competing
and just 3 weeks ago, she won her first Novice class with 67%.
She only needed to win a second class and she would have qualified for
the Regional Championships at Novice level.
The
accident happened in the field - it was a sunny afternoon and Kirstie
had let her out
for a few hours. Wo was cantering around the field and somehow she cantered
straight into the wooden fence. There was no reason for her to do it
- I don't know if she was looking
somewhere else or what. The vertical post stuck into her belly.
Kirstie saw it happen, the vet came immediately, he took one look and
said Wo could not be saved.
She was put to sleep. It is such a shock - we are all so upset and sad.
Kirstie
thought Wo was very special !!
She had had lessons from Michel Assouline and David Hunt and they also
thought she was a very nice horse.
We were hoping this year she would do very very well at Novice level
and in the young horse competitions. Wherever we took her, people stopped
to watch her and commented
"what a lovely horse".
It was obviously not to be.
I
am so sorry to bring you such awful news. We still cant believe
it. She was so beautiful - it is such a waste.
Sonia
& Alistair
